Survival Bros Product Testing The Gerber Prodigy Blade By Breaking a Glass Car Window
Using a “survival” knife to break glass for people locked out of their vehicle, Survival Bros helps by smashing a small car window, so the owner can get his keys and go home. The gentleman’s girlfriend locked the keychain in the car by accident before setting off on a day hike. At first, their solution was to simply throw a rock at the shiny, new BMW Sedan! They decided against that method of breaking in. He didn’t care about money it would cost to repair his ride, because he has auto insurance. I guess insurance covers women. The couple would have been stranded on the mountain at night, if they couldn’t get in. There’s NO cellphone service in The Forest. Fortunately, she was able to reach her arm in without getting hurt to pull the door handle open from the inside.
Would you call the Gerber Prodigy a true survival knife? Comment. It’s smaller, and only has versions featuring irritating serrations. Most friends I’ve encountered aren’t fond of this blade profile, because it takes away from the cutting surface area. Total length of 9.75 inches and blade length of 4.75 inches.
On the plus side, the sheath is quality, making it easy to lash, or attach to your backpack. MOLLE compatible, with a leg strap to try as a carrying position. The rubberized grip works well, and fits in hand ergonomically. It’s a bargain entry level survival or combat knife. Whatever you want to call it, or use it for, the price is right on Amazon for under $40 with free shipping. Mocha The Puggle and I love you! (Hiking Saddle Mountain)
I saw this amazing elk herd when I drove to Del Rey Beach in Gearhart, Oregon. I parked my Volkswagen Vanagon in the lot, grabbed my HD camera, and snuck up on them all. I came from the beach, and quietly walked through tall grass from behind to get the shot. I hope you enjoy my footage. This is raw news produced for our alternative news community – Survival Bros. It’s not everyday Mother Nature allows us to see beauty on Earth like this. Experience it. Peace and love.
Cameron McKirdy of Survival Bros gets naked, and films the Terwilliger Hot Springs near Cougar Reservoir in Oregon by Blue River. Check out the four natural pools, and the wooden structures. The top pool is now under construction. The natural cave, which was a sauna, and the source of the hot springs is being remodeled by experts. They want it to remain as natural looking as possible. Word on the street is that the first pool will reopen as soon as it’s safe, and stable.
Two Killer Whales, or orcas have been spotted migrating North near Cannon Beach in Oregon State. I was enjoying a wet hike from Short Sands Beach at Oswald West State Park out to Cape Falcon when I shot this HD video. When I climbed to the edge of a dangerous cliff near the water of the Pacific Ocean I saw these 2 beautiful beasts approaching on my left. I had to get my LG G2 smart phone out to film, but I was torn between looking at the creatures, and the camera screen. However, I saw plenty of my friends, and got the shot for all of you.
This was possibly the best experience of my life. Orcas (and dolphins) are magical creatures, and probably smarter than humans. I think they wanted to hang out with me. But one slip, and I would have gone tumbling down the mountain side, and become fresh fish food. I was only posted up at the location where I spotted these mammals for a few minutes. After they left, so did I. I’d seen the best, and it was pouring. All of my clothes got soaked when I made my way back through the damp plants. I didn’t mind being cold. I was amped from seeing my wild buddies do their thing. It gave me energy for the journey. Now I don’t ever want to go to a zoo again. It’s not the same. Stay wild!

Notes: Everyday Carry Backpack items change all the time. Make something like this for yourself for everyday emergency preparedness. My pack also has a rain cover, but I have considered buying a medium sized dry bag. I also carry 3m protective sunglasses, paracord bracelet, keychain with tools, one Hoo-Rag bandana, my wallet, and a mace pen, but the self-defense weapon fell out in my van before filming.
