I stopped by Yogi Tea Headquarters in Springfield, Oregon today.  After buzzing the doorbell I was welcomed inside, out of the rain.  They don’t give tours of the building, but offered me a handful of sample tea packets to try.  I took my time investigating each type, but ended up taking every kind I think.  Pictured are new varieties I’ve never seen on store shelves before.  You can find Yogi teas by the box at nearly every health food shop.  They are delicious.  I’m grateful for the hookup.  It paid off to stop, and inquire.  These will go into my EDC bag immediately for later consumption.  But I got two of their Roasted Dandelion Spice Detox formula, so I will have to drink that tonight.

Update:  I went back for this picture of the free sample bowl at headquarters.  I scored 11 more packets from Yogi.  Visit them in Springfield, OR for a hook up.

Survival Bros gives you a tour of the 1986 Volkswagon Vanagon, and discusses van dwelling.  I use the Coast Products TX100 LED flashlight to show you how dark the windows are now with tint and black vinyl covering them.  Look at the other gear I use and how, including my Kelty Recluse 2.5 insulated sleeping pad.  You have to have some kind of mat to lay on to be comfortable camping.

I’ve been doing a great job of staying clear of local police.  I continue to camp on private property with permission from the owner, or legally at camp grounds.  Plus, by staying at designated rest areas, the cops can’t charge me with overnight camping.  The police have better things to do anyways, like uphold their oath to The Constitution, and keep the peace.  We know law enforcement is big fans of our emergency preparedness blog, so thanks for visiting!  More adventures from the road soon.

Nothing is more precious than a child. That’s why babysitting is so important. I recently watched three girls. They tried to break me. I regulated. Everybody came out better.

First off, babies are out of control. They get into everything. You really can’t babyproof a house, because they can climb anything like King Kong. They do as much damage too. The two younger girls I watched are 18 months, and three years old! They usually don’t play together, so I’m always running down one of them. I’ve never drank so much coffee, and been so exhausted.

Kids are tornados. I’ve been blasted with Cheerios, toys, and gale force sneezes. The baby is always squirting something out. She is almost potty trained though. Her sisters are helping her figure it out. And for the record, I’m not afraid to change a diaper. Every prepper should check that off their to do list!

I’ve found rugrats typically need activities like drawing or reading. This stimulates their mind, and they will make less messes for you. It’s also good to tell them NO! And let them cry. I can’t cater to everything they want. When kids are fussy, they seem just frustrated or tired. Naps are your best friend.

It’s also crucial to teach them while playing. They don’t even know they’re learning while playing games. We go over things like colors, names, and numbers. The squirts love to learn words and repeat what I say. They are sponges. That’s why they can only watch so much TV. I’d rather they play then zone out.

Finally, but maybe most important, it’s key to make the kids feel safe and nurtured. I’m always smiling around them, and ready to play. The infant always says, “tickle me!” She is so funny. The children play all types of games naturally. Being around them has made me more childlike, which is great. SURVIVAL BROS invites you to inspire a kid. Spend time around them. You can learn from them as you teach.

Baby yoga time with Cam. We also did push-ups.

Forget the gym. Work on your fitness outside, and without weights. Just bring a yoga mat to workout on. I thought this was a cool video with a bunch of different exercises. Lunges at 45 degree angles always destroy my legs, and build muscle. Enjoy!
