Watch a Survival Bros score a Free Lunch at Costco.  I joked with the CDS Demonstrators as I took my portions.  It was only a 14-Course meal this time.  We missed a few vendors because they ran out of goods, or were cleaning up at the end of the day.  Have you taken this many samples in the store?  SB didn’t need pizza at The Deli after this challenging record attempt.  Which way to the bathroom?  Survival Bros got gas in bulk.  Filmed the day before the Super Bowl in Warrenton, Oregon.  Subscribe to our YouTube Channel for more crazy videos.  Thanks for watching!

In these HD #survivalbros videos I source product, or pick stuff, to potentially resell at a profit.  I purchased nearly 27 pounds of Goodwill donations at 99 cents per lb in one day, as seen in the first vlog below.  Watch these guides to learn more about picking, aka hustling.  I chose a diverse range of merchandise, buying everything from purses to Nintendo Wii video games.  I think I scored on my thrifting haul adventure, but you  be the judge.  SUBSCRIBE TO SURVIVAL BROS ON YOUTUBE HERE to join the conversation.  Thanks for watching.

Pro Tips for  Shopping at The Goodwill Outlet Bins:

  1. Wear gloves.  This way you can toss stuff, and protect your hands from sharp objects…
  2. Weigh your cart several times to see where your at, and to preview what you may spend.
  3. Take a chance on an item or two that you know nothing about.  It may prove to be a super find.

More advice coming in blog articles soon…..

This week I got up early and drove the Volkswagen Vanagon out to the legendary Goodwill Outlet near the Portland International Airport, or PDX.  I slept nearby, for free, in the Shari’s Resturant parking lot.  As a hustler, I knew I had to get to Goodwill before the place opens up at 8 AM.  I had my smartphone on me, charged, to scan barcodes, and research items online.  I used the eBay, and Amazon applications for quick access to information.

It was a feeding frenzy inside.  No time to shoot video when you’re trying to make money.  Goodwill charges only $1.67 per pound for most anything, besides CDs, DVDs, and stuff in the display case, as far as I know.  At the end, you roll your shopping cart onto a scale, like weighing your vehicle at a garbage dump.  You’ll see my thrifting haul in the HD Survival Bros video below.  I had to dig threw a bunch of trash to find anything acceptable for potential reselling, and keeping.  You will get your hands dirty.  Try to avoid piss blankets, and scan everything with your eyes to make less work for yourself.  My strategies netted me a Phillips Norelco electric razor, Wii video game, Levis flannel shirt, wall charger, scarf, two GPS units by Garmin and Magellen, fanny back for ultralight backpacking, and a Nike Max Air backpack.  I think I did excellent considering I spent just $7.44.

Hustling isn’t for lazy people.  You have to think on your feet, and react quickly.  One must follow their heart, and instincts to get money.  Buying and selling the goods you got takes skill too.  Then you have to deliver on your promise to the customer in order to maintain your street cred.  Do you have what it takes to be a hustler?  I made this video to help others get ideas about reselling their thrift shop finds, not to simply to show off my abilities.  But damn I’m good.  No.  Hustling, making a video on it, and articulating ideas in an article is not for the lazy. Good money is earned.  My thoughts are free.  Check out the picked profit breakdown below.

Total Value and Asking price on thrifting haul:

1. Price is Right Wii game + $20

2. Tiger Woods 08 game + $25

3. Baby Einstein DVDs + $20

4. Batman CD Player + $45 (SOLD!)

5. Starbucks Tumbler + $20

6. Lion King Disney Mug + $20

7. Sony Walkman Radio + $40

8. Octopus Ring + $20 = $210

*Spent only $19!

In this HD video, I show you how to get free food samples at any Safeway Grocery Store simply by asking.  First stop; The Bakery.  I scored a chocolate chip cookie, and a rich brownie with fudge frosting by using little effort.  Getting this freebie was child’s play, but the complementary grub isn’t available only for the kids, as you may have thought.  I use this method on most of my visits to large retailers.  The bakers told me they give out 10-15 trays of 45 count cookies daily.  So claim your grub, and don’t let free calories go uneaten.  Also of note, The Bakery is on my way from the back of the grocery store, where I check the half off sale items anyways.

Free samples and bargains can be had, even at the most expensive Safeway in America, located in my hometown of Seaside, Oregon.  I do this wild stuff to offset the cost of my calorie intake, and for my own sick amusement.  I want to get the maximum out of any given situation, like I did in this social experiment.  The employees are typically really generous, and don’t mind my request.
Free Cookie Samples Safeway
A friend and I once got three types of no cost cookies for each person asking.  So we enjoyed a variety of desserts for free to enjoy while filling my cart.  Share your comments below on urban scavenging.Beef Sample at Safeway DeliIn this photo I show off my huge haul of three roast beef pieces after politely requesting to try some red meat at the deli counter.   This was enough flesh for a hearty sandwich, but I ate it in store, and even shared some with another shopper!  Push the limit, and ask to sample each and every appetizing food type behind the glass.  It’s the education you need to become a smarter shopper.

Learn about getting food and supplement samples from your local shops at NO COST.  I visit health food stores such as GNC, and ask the cashier for freebies, or take items from their basket of product trials.  These individual servings will be stored properly in Ziploc bags, and placed in various emergency preparedness kits, plus my Everyday Carry backpack.  I have saved tons of money using this method of urban scavenging.  You can make your own freebie haul like this with little effort.

Survival Bros sleeps in a 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon GL, down by the Columbia River for free.  You can stay at in the Safeway parking lot in Astoria, Oregon at no cost, and you won’t be hassled for being there, according an employee running the gas station.  I was polite, and purchased distilled water in the store anyways.  Find out if the sea lions drove me crazy from all the noise.  I kept imagining the loud animals being destroyed by killer whales, great white sharks, and nuclear war heads.  However, if your cruising the Oregon Coast, keep this location in mind so you don’t have to pay to live, or for a view.  I love the car camping lifestyle.  If you can stay mobile, and explore The World, why do anything else?  More van dwelling videos in High Definition coming soon.  Thanks for liking, and commenting ahead of time.  Cheers!
