Cameron McKirdy Lives…

Cameron McKirdy on Movie Set

I’ve been sick for 7 Days with Norovirus!  #norovirus  Did you get me sick?  Ain’t nothing stopping this one.  I had stomach cramps, and more.  I took digestive enzymes with ginger and garlic root, hoping to feel better.  That was a good start to my slow recovery, but on a budget you know I had to swing some other things.  So I hit Dollar Tree for Alka-Seltzer Plus.  Between herbs, probiotics, root powders, enzymes, and other various free samples from health food stores…I have finally healed from this illness!  How do I know?  Solid poops.  Victory has never smelled so regular.

Tips: Stay stockpiled on Medicine you use.  You’ll want everything from Anti-Diarrheal to fever reducing Aspirin.  Research Chinese Herbology for natural remedies.  Combine traditional cures, with modern formulas.  Also, eat solid foods like crackers to help settle your stomach, and absorb stomach acid.  Follow these Survival Bros Tips for a speedy recovery.  Of course, go to a hospital and see your Doctor if you have health insurance coverage.  People die every year from this Virus, and there isn’t a vaccine to save you.  Prevent illness by reducing stress, getting Vitamin D through the Sun or supplementation, and resting up.  Finally, drink plenty of water, and consume electrolytes.  This will help with muscles aches and dehydration, which is another symptom of Norovirus infection.  Best wishes from Survival Bros.

Mutating Norovirus in Cameron’s Belly!!!

Watch our new HD video production to get ideas of easy meals you can create while living in your vehicle.  I’ve been sleeping in my 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon GL, or vandwelling for eight months straight now.  Being out there, and doing IT, teaches you what it takes to plan for a long road trip.  However, maybe this blog post will inspire you to do more car camping.  It’s been an amazing experience, and my pleasure to share with you.  I’m so glad I’ve been able to see more of the Pacific Northwest while I’m young, wild, and free.  Now I just need to find more stickers to paste on my VW Bus.

Many food suggestions shown in the YouTube video are also ideal for backpacking, because they are ready instantly with hot water. Other dishes, or side meals are fully prepared for consumption as is, such as the individually wrapped granola bars.  I also eat plenty of fresh organic fruit, and drink spring or distilled water.  No tap.

Tip:  Use different sizes of Ziploc bags to store food items in, and label each kit with a permanent pen.  You can compact the plastic storage sacks, and take most of the air out of them, so they are almost vacuum sealed, and take up minimal space.  Then put the locked baggies in larger bins, or the pockets of your Everyday Carry backpack for safekeeping.
