Mitsubishi Fuso FG 140 4×4 truck spotted in Seaside, Oregon!  This emergency preparedness rig has an ideal setup for extreme mobile living, and protection from undead zombies among us.  Would you car camp in this monster?  It looks comfortable, and well designed.  It may be bigger than I’d want for bugging out, and I don’t know about the color, but it’s an excellent truck platform to work from.  The Fuso just needs a snorkel if it’s going to spend the winter on the Oregon Coast.  I didn’t see a camera system installed either for extra security.

This beast looks like a completely custom job, made to be multi-purpose.  There’s few places it couldn’t go on Earth.  I’d love to hear what you have to say about this setup in the comment section, or on our YouTube channel.  I’m sure this vehicle will be on the road for a long time, baring an unforeseen marauders, or natural disasters, etc.  Please SUBSCRIBE to Survival Bros by entering your email on the top left side of the screen!  Stay tuned for more emergency preparedness news, because you can’t know what’s around the corner.

I’m all about my freebies.  Maybe you remember all of the product samples I’ve scored, and blogged about in the past.  You can get free stuff easily by requesting trials online, and they will be delivered to you by mail.  When I’m not filling out forms like that, I’m in shops trying to get hook ups.  In Starbucks this week they were sampling out pasteries.  They weren’t on display yet.  The stash was sitting off into the corner on the counter, with a Manager’s note saying “Sample these.”  I politely asked an employee if I could have one of the items.  There was all sorts of muffins, bars, and scones to pick from.  On day one I took the pink cake filled lolly pops with sprinkles.  I didn’t eat them in public.

I went back to the coffee shop for more samples the next day, just in case they were still available.  Really, I just needed the WiFi to upload my previous video.  I scored the squishy coffee cake that day, but didn’t stop there.  I requested 3 honey packets too, since they don’t put those out at all Starbucks locations.  I swiped a few raw sugar packets as well.  Plus, I saw another sign saying I can request a free sample beverage using their coffee pods if I asked.  When I mentioned it, the worker said they haven’t used that set up to brew complimentary cups of fresh java lately, even though the machine, and sample pods where still on the front counter.  I didn’t have time for them to pretend to look for an extension cord, so I took samples for later consumption.

I like to visit the health food store weekly, and my last trip was really worth it.  They always have free tablets of Vitamin C to help yourself to, but there was more.  I found packets of food-grade Diatomaceous Earth, Natural Calm magnesium mixes in three flavors, Barlean’s Greens, one DHA pill, and a bag of tea.  These individually wrapped servings are perfect for my backpacking trips, and the small emergency caches I like to build to prepare for tsunamis.  If I can swoop up all of these freebies, than so can you.  Ask for a nibble when you’re in the food court, or browsing the deli counter at the grocery store.  It’s fun to see what you can get for asking.  Happy hunting Survival Bros.

Survival Bros drives in dangerous road conditions through Champaign, Illinois.  It was 29 degrees.  First came an inch of snow, then freezing rain, followed by a hail storm.  The worthless rental car, a Kia Soul, was covered in an inch of ice, and struggled to stay on the slippery road!  There were accidents all over the place, but it looks like the worst winter weather is behind us now.  Stay tuned for additional HD videos.  Please enter your email on the top left side of the blog to follow all of our posts.  More intense stuff soon.  Thanks for visiting!  Get prepared.

I hit the road for work. A new friend took me in. This is a couch surfing tale.

That was the scene this morning! We got down. My bro cooked potatoes with bacon fat, and served eggs just how I like them. I added sour cream, a cheese blend, and extra smoky chipotle powder. I’m sure he threw in other secret ingredients, but I didn’t dare ask what. At the table, his 3-year-old daughter lectured us on how friends share.

My host family has been very good to me. I had my pick of the couch, recliner, or air mattress. I went La-Z-Boy, and slept like a baby. That was until my alarm rang 3 hours earlier than I like for work. Then I had trouble when I started changing into my nice work clothes. After putting on my black jeans I realized I actually grabbed my Moms. They were restricting. That’s the first time I’ve had on girl clothes. I had to go casual and borrow a jacket. Smooth. Next time I will be more careful after doing laundry at my family’s house.

It’s awesome having friends I can count on when I need a place to crash. They offered. Why not? When couch surfing, it’s always a good idea to bring something to the table. I brought a small gift of thanks. I also meant to bring my hosts edible chanterelle mushrooms, but I left them at a buddy’s house and told him to keep em.

You can learn a lot from new people. Especially when they are transplants. We just have to find common ground. Happy couch surfing!!!

UPDATE: I’ve been doing more couch surfing. I recently traveled for a job, and worked as a tour guide for a cruise ship that came into The Port of Astoria. I took a bus load of tourists down the Oregon Coast to Cannon Beach and Seaside. I showed them the best spots for candy, like elephant ears, carmel apples, and salt water taffy. I had to take them to Norma’s in Seaside for their world famous clam chowder. I told them it goes well with beer from Fort George called Vortex IPA. Anyways, that was one of my odd jobs recently.

Tonight I’m filming Mixed Martial Arts fights at the Astoria Fairgrounds. Many of my friends will be battling in the cage. I love filming events like this. It’s going to be nuts. And it’s a full moon, so anything can happen.

Right now I’m at a friends getting ready to go. He is fueling us up with an epic breakfast spread. Mac is making two types of pancakes! Potato pancakes with green onions to go with chorizo and sour cream, and maple bacon cakes with bits infused into the batter. He also stirred up a maple syrup with butter and peanut butter. I can hear the sizzling now! My belly is so empty. I will post a picture of the complete feast here.
