I hadn’t seen much of Chris Weidman before his first fight with Anderson Silvia in July of 2013, although I’ve since gone back and seen most of his 11 wins. I watch many of the UFC Pay-Per-View events, but when I saw UFC 162 I was awe struck. Weidman looked perfect, and I loved his confidence. The day after he knocked out Silva I purchased a Weidman autographed Topps Rookie Card for a long-term investment. It’s the first sports card he ever signed after joining The Ultimate Fighting Championship. I was a little late to get on the bandwagon, but real recognizes real. Chris made short work of “The Greatest Fighter Ever” twice, now it’s his time. This blog post is a tribute to the current UFC Middleweight Champion of The World. Also, in case you didn’t know, Weidman’s home was heavily damaged from Hurricane Sandy in 2012. He volunteered to help rebuild homes for people in need.
